<p>Paired, interfacing truncated-cone-shaped chipping discs are mounted on the device for smoothing and flattening the surfaces of beams or tree trunks which are slid along between them. In each pair, the axes of the discs enclose a given angle, and intersect in the longitudinal centre plane of the trimmed beam. The covering surfaces of the discs are aligned parallel to the base surfaces and facing the beam they diverge in the direction of beam forwarding. No special templates are needed, and cutting tools can be more quickly fitted, with less idle time.</p> |
