PURPOSE:An antibacterial having improved synergistic ally abtibacterial power, comprising a specific phosphonic acid derivative and an aminoglycoside antibiotic. CONSTITUTION:An antibacterial comprising (A) a phosphonic acid derivative of the formula (R is lower alkanoyl group; n is an integer 2-5) or its salt, e.g. 3-(N- formyl-N-hydroxy-amino)propylphosphonic acid, and (B) an aminoglycoside or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, e.g. gentamicin, tobramycin, dibekacin, amikacin, or bekanamycin, at a weight ratio of (A) to (B) of 1-20:1. The product is effective for preventing and treating infectious diseases in men and animals due to pathogenic bacteria. |
