PURPOSE:To prevent color fog and yet to accelerate development, by adding a benzenesulfonamide derivative to a processing solution for an exposed photographic material containing a specified yellow coupler to process the material. CONSTITUTION:After a photographic material containing a yello coupler represented by formula I (R1 is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group; R2 is cyano or N-phenylcarbamyl; Y is =C=O, -SO2-, N, or the like; Z is a nonmetallic atomic group needed to form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring) has been exposed, a benzenesulfonamide derivative represented by formula II (R3 and R4 are H, 1-3C alkyl, acetyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, carbamoyl, or carbamyl; and m+n are an integer of 0-5) is added to a color developing solution containing p-phenylenediamine derivative (salt) or a preceding processing solution in an amount of about 0.1-20g per liter of the processing solution to process the photographic material. |
