<p>The hinge for a car seat has a rotating brake disc on the seat back support, which rotates as the rake is altered. The disc is surrounded by a brake band which is tensioned by a spring and a spring-loaded cam lever which is lifted to release the brake and alter the seat setting. The brake band provides an even pressure around the disc, as well as an infinite rake adjustment. The brake provides a secure hold, with a self-tightening effect is the seat backrest is subjected to a collision force.</p> |
