Combined process producing liquefied gas and drinking water - compressing heating gas by cooling-circuit fed gas turbine

A higher output per unit of energy consumed, for each prod. is achieved by combining the liquify of natural gas, with the prodn. of drinking water from seawater. In the combined process, the disadvantageous operating conditions of the one individual process are used to relieve those of the other process. Specifically the process for producing drinking water from seawater which is described in NL 7804946, is combined with a gas densifying stage in which the compressor is driven by a gas turbine. This derives its fuel from the outlet side of the cooling coil for the vapourised water from which it goes to hte combustion chamber of the turbine. The gas is brought to the operating condition by the instrumented equipment according to the desired amts. of water and liquefied gas to be produced. The liquefied gas can be drawn off by the automated equipment, and the low pressure gas can be delivered to the compressor.
