<p>A filter, for pressurised polymers and for extruders/injection moulding in particualr, has a filter holder fitted into a space and the housing has >=1 hole for removal of a filter while not in use and requiring cleaning. A sliding plate has a degassing passage, in one position this plate connects the passage to a hole for polymer flow to the top of the next filter so that the bottom of the filter is connected to atmosphere via another hole, in its other position the degassing passage is accessible for cleaning; a removable plate is aligned with each hole for removal of the filters and each hole has a plug. A simple, effective, and easily cleaned means of degassing the polymer is provided.</p> |
