The closure collar is T-shaped with conductors entering/leaving at the ends of the crosspiece of the Tees and cooling water entering/leaving at the end of the stem of the Tees. The connecting piece (13) joining the ends of the two high voltage conductors has two metal screens (14, 15) open axially and associated one with each conductor. A massive metal cylinder (16) with holes (26-29) to deflect the cooling water is located between the screens perpendicular to the axis of two end connectors (8, 10) to the conductors. Two thick-walled metal tubes (17, 18) connect the screens to the metal cylinder. A circular baffle (19) is located in the centre of each rotationally-symmetric screen perpendicular to its axis.
