The back plates (3, 4) for the pads (1, 2) of a disc brake move on two parallel guide pins (5, 6). To hold the pads apart when not operated, a spring wire spreader (11) is fitted. With one end (9) of this spreader (11) located in a slotted hole in one back plate (3), it then crosses to the second back plate (4). The wire passes around one guide pin, behind a projection in the back plate, around the second guide pin (6) and back through a second slotted hole in the first back plate (3).
|
