(A) fractionation of green plants, allowing separate recovery of the juice and the pulp in various percentages and in desired concentration for better use of the compounds (in particular, for better use of the proteins), comprises a first grinding and stem bursting stage without malaxage of the cellulose, and a second stage giving the desired fractionation. Process gives pulps suitable for animal feeds by a pressing process which may be preserved anaerobically without any dehydration processes (which gives considerable energy savings over known processes). The juice which has a high protein content may be used as a substitute for expensive fish meal and soya meal when feeding monogastric animals.
