<p>APPARATUS FOR PREFORMING A WALL COVERING FROM A SHEET OF PLASTIC LAMINATE A single sheet of standard grade plastic laminate material is bent at two locations to form it into a side wall and two end walls corresponding to the side wall and two end walls of a bathtub recess. The plastic laminate material is located between a support bed and a press assembly of a forming apparatus. The bed includes a pair of parallel forming tubes having exterior forming surfaces and thermostatically controlled internal heating elements for controlling the temperature of the forming surfaces. The press assembly includes a pair of wing members which are movable to bend the end portions of the plastic laminate material about the two forming tubes. Following forming the formed corner portions are tempered by applying water to them.</p> |
