<p>The frequency converter for coherent light within a given wavelength range uses a crystal of an optically non-linear material. The crystal has a characteristic such that, at least for a selected wavelength, the phase adjustment angle and/or the phase adjustment temp. are not dependent on the wavelength, at least to a first approximation. Specifically a calcium vanadate (Ca3(VO4)2) crystal is used. The frequency converter can be used for frequency doubling in the spectral range 1.7 mu-3 mu, or for frequency conversion of a semiconductor laser in the range 2 mu-3 mu.</p> |
