PURPOSE:To make the opening operation of the gate easy and assure the safety at the opening and closing operations by providing an elastic resetting power transmitting means which makes the opening operation of the gate from its close position easy. CONSTITUTION:The root end parts of an automatic opriginal feeder 1 are pivotally supported to the shafts 10, 11 which are secured to both support frames 8, 9. When an ordinary original is going to be copied, automatic original feeding is accomplished in a closed state. When a book or the like is going to be copied, the feeder is held opened and the book or the like is directly placed on a contact glass 6. This copying machine is provided with an elastic resetting force transmitting device consisting of a leaf spring body 13, etc. Where the feeder 1 is held closed, the elastic force of the spring body 13 is transmitted on the line inclusive of the centroid of the feeder 1 and is balancing approximately with the own gravity of the feeder 1. At the time of closing the gate 1, its operation takes place by overcoming the elastic force of the leaf spring body 13 and therefore the rapid falling of the gate 1 owing to its weight may be prevented. |
