PURPOSE:To improve the ability to carry developer and the abrasion resistance of a sleeve surface by filling fine holes in the outside surface of the aluminum anodic oxidation coatings of a developer carrying member which has a magnetic field generating means in it and is turned and driven around said means. CONSTITUTION:The developer carrying member 1 has the magnetic field generating means 2 in it, is turned and driven around said means 2, and confronted with an image carrier B. A developer (t) containing magnetic particles or particles of magnetism is supplied to the outside surface of the developer carrying member 1, and carried and sent to a developing area facing the image carrier B by virtue of frictional force of the developer (t) with the member 1 and magnetic force of the inside magnetic field generating means 2, whereby a latent image on the surface of the image carrier is formed on the outside surface of the member 1. The outside surface of the developer carrying member 1 is the aluminum anodic oxidation coatings 12, and magnetic bodies 14 fill the fine holes 13 in the film. Thus, the ability to carry the developer on the developing sleeve, and the abrasion resistance of the sleeve surface can be improved. |
