PURPOSE:To fall the cooling water in the plate type so as to fall onto the rolled material stably, in order to uniformly cool the rooled material, by trimming the flow of cooling water within the water tank, by adjusting the flow rate of water supply, and also, by putting on-off the flow of cooling water, when the hot rolled material is cooled. CONSTITUTION:The perforated plate 11 possessing many holes 10 and the header 9 provided with many water outlets 8 are arranged within the water tank 1. The communicating pipe 4, communicated through the air hole 3 to the upper space of the water tank 1, is connected to the water tank 5; the water supply pipe 7 and the air vent valve 6 are installed in the tank 5. The cook 12 for intercepting the cooling water supplied through the water outlets 2 is installed in the bottom of the water tank 1. The rotary cylinder 17 of the cock 12 is turned so as to close the water outlet 2, and the cooling water is supplied from the header 9 into the water tank 1 until the tank 5 is filled to a specified volume. Next, the cock 12 is turned in the inverse direction in order to open the water outlet 2; hereby, the water being trimmed by the holes 10 of the perforated plate 11 is supplied in the plate type onto the rolled sheet over the whole breadth of the sheet which is then uniformly cooled. |
