Light loss reduction in colour characteristic measurement devices - involves specially shaped plane parallel glass plate optical elements

A light sensor or single beam light box is used for evaluating colour characteristics, e.g. print marks on paper of artificial media for printing machines. It enables further reductions in light losses in semi-transparent mirrors and optical fibres compared to conventional devices. Optical elements of partic. shapes are used in the light transmission and reception paths. The elements are shaped plane parallel glass plates with circular or cylindrical tense end curvatures. The reception path plate has a 45 deg. slope on one side giving a 90 deg. light deflection.
