The wheel slip control device is provided with a centrifugal mass (14) capable of rotation in relation to the axle of the wheel to be braked and a cam ring (6) coupled to this. The cam ring (6) carries an axially corrugated cam track (5), on which an axially displaceable, spring-loaded control element (1) for the rolling member (3) controlling the brake release is capable of rolling. Between the cam ring (6) and the centrifugal mass (14) a coupling device (8, 9) having friction surfaces is arranged, the friction surfaces being spring-loaded in the opposing contact pressure direction. By its slipping during locking of the wheel to be braked, the coupling device produces a slow reduction in the speed of the centrifugal mass (14) relative to the wheel, thereby delaying the return of the control element (1) and hence reactuation of the brake when the wheel starts to rotate again, thus preventing repeated locking of the wheel at a lower speed level. The coupling device (8, 9) can be designed as a 3-point cone or disc clutch with adjustable load spring (10). <IMAGE>
