PURPOSE:To prepare a bamboo tube rice having a flavor of bamboo and a perfume of green bamboos, capable of giving an elegance container of a cooker, by cooking given amounts of rice and water in bamboo tubes having a joint at one end placed in a cooker or sasori. CONSTITUTION:The undried bamboo tubes 2 each having one joint 1 are filled with an adequate amount of rice 3 and water 4 in an amount corresponding to the rice, and covered with the lids 5, e.g. bamboo leaves or suitable air-permeable materials. A small amount of water is put into the cooker or sasori 6, and the bamboo tubes 2 are inserted side by side and cooked over a fire with the cover closed to cook the rice thoroughly for several tens of minutes. The tubes 2 are then taken out of the cooker or sasori 6 and split immediately before eating to use the hot rice for food. The tubes 2 may be put into a steaming cooker and cooked with steam introduced from a boiler. |
