PURPOSE:To manufacture an oriented silicon steel sheet with high magnetic flux density and low iron loss by esp. adding a restricted amt. of W to a silicon steel of a specified compsn. followed by hot rolling, primary recrystallization annealing and final finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:A silicon steel contg. C<=0.06%, Si<=4.0%, Se 0.003-0.1% and/or or S 0.008-0.1% and W 0.002-0.1% is hot rolled and repeatedly subjected to annealing and cold rolling. The resulting cold rolled steel sheet of the final thickness is then subjected to primary recrystallization combined with decarburization, followed by final finish annealing. By the treatments secondary recrystallized grains of (110)<001> orientation are grown, and growth of precipitates or dissolved atoms segregated at the grain boundaries are controlled at the same time. Thus, the combined addn. of a little W and Se or S enhances the magnetic characteristics of the silicon steel and reduces the iron loss. |
