In the cable-ending electrical contact, the insulating sheath of a wire or cable is self-stripping and the contact element is of phosphor bronze for an immovable cable or of copper and beryllium alloy (with a spring) for a demountable cable. By prior cutting, the material of the wire holder is prepared for subsequent bending into the shapes shown. In this and similar configurations the wire(1) is held firmly against movement in either axial or radial directions. In a further form, the lower part of the wings (27) are turned outwards and a section of the base is given two upward-pointing ears such that exterior of the wire is located even more positively in place.
