A gantry-shaped frame (12) is suspended in a vertically movable manner on a supporting tube (2), on which a ground-loosening appliance (1) having holding hafts (5) and loosening bodies (6) is attached. A shaft (18) equipped with tines or knives (19) and belonging to an appliance serving for ground tilling (13) is mounted in the frame (12). The holding hafts (5) have a shank (5a) projecting approximately vertically downwards and a holding arm (5b) which adjoins the shank (5a) and projects forwards in the direction of travel and which runs in the ground in the working position; lateral mounted wing-shaped loosening coulters (6c) are arranged on the front end of the holding arm (5b) in front of the paths of movement of the tines or knives (19). This is intended to allow fault-free working of fields which are covered with crop residues tending to become matted. A short overall length of the machine and an easy separability of the appliances (1, 13) are also achieved. <IMAGE>
