<p>The anchor bolt (3) is intended for securing a component e.g. (5) to a wall. It comprises a sleeve (1) which locks the bolt in a bore in the wall by being expanded. This expansion takes place under the action of a taper (2) when a nut (6, 7) on the protruding end of the bolt is tightened. The nut has a forward portion (7) which is intended for engagement by a spanner and is connected to its rearward portion (6) via a fracture line. When the torque on tightening reaches a given level, the portions (7, 6) separate, leaving the bolt with portion (6) in position.</p> |
