PURPOSE:To effectively lead and propagate the exit light of an LED into an optical guide and make possible definite grasping of the exit light singal from the optical guide by setting the diameter of the light lead part of the optical guide at the specified times the diameter of the reflecting plate opening of the LED. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted by an LED 10 which is placed and fixed to a stem 13 and is molded by transparent resin 16 and an optical guide provided so as to be optically coupled to the LED 10. A reflecting plate 12 is provided around the diode pellet 11 constituting the LED 10 and the end face 23 of the optical guide having the photoconductive part diameter 0.8-2 times the opening diameter of said reflecting plate is adjoined to the LED 10. Further, the distance between the optical guide end face 23 and diode pellet 11 is set at 0.3-2mm. As a result, the exit light from the LED 10 is effectively led into the optical guide 20 and the light signal from its exit end 24 is grasped definitely in the photo detector or visually. |
