TIRE MOUNTING AND DEMOUNTING APPARATUS AND METHOS

The apparatus includes a clamp for holding a wheel. A tyre clamp is mounted for movement toward and away from the wheel clamp. It is operated, during tyre mounting, to urge a tyre away from the wheel, while moving another tyre toward the wheel. In demounting the tyre, the tyre clamp is utilised to bring the tyre in a direction to cause two beads to enter the drop centre of the wheel. Oppositely the tyre is axially moved away from the wheel until both beads at the opposite location, are moved from between the wheel flanges.
