<p>A device is disclosed for releasing small amounts of liquid, the amounts being controlled by a metering unit. The device is particularly useful in connection with sterilizing apparatus particularly apparatus far sterilizing milk containers. The metering unit comprises a metering vessel which is adapted to be filled with a relatively large amount of liquid and has an outlet which is connected to an ejector element for small amounts of liquid, and the cross section of which is adapted to the small amount of liquid to be checked, in such a manner that a sensing device having upper and lower sensors, and arranged upon the metering vessel, responds with an accuracy of about one to five small amounts of liquid, the said sensing device switching on a counter for the period during which liquid is taken from the said metering vessel, and the said counter receiving counting pulses from a pulse generator supplying timing pulses and triggered by the said ejector element or ejecting a constant quantity per unit of time.</p> |
