<p>The water cooled tuyere for metallurgical furnaces is of hollow construction and has a rotation symmetrical shape. Its interior contains a frontal and a rear cooling chamber. The fresh coolant supply is fed first into the front cooling chamber via nozzles set at an angle and relative to the axis of the tuyere. From this it flows through a ring section near the front into the rear cooling chamber, which it leaves through an outlet at the base of the tuyere.
