<p>Title cpds. of formula Y-CHZ-COOX (where Y is R1,R2,R3 and R4 are H, halogen, CN, NO2, lower alkyl lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl (all opt. substd. by halogen) lower alkoxy, lower alkoxyalkyl, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulphoxy, acyl, acyloxy, lower alkoxy-carboxyl lower alkenyl, oxycarbonyl or lower alkynyloxycarbonyl, and in addn. R1 and R2 together may be OCH2O, (CH2)3 or (CH2)4; R5 and R6 are H, halogen, CN, NO2 or lower alkyl; m and n are 1-3, and represents a double bond which the C=O gp. or Y may be (R7)C=CR8R9 where R7, R8 and R9 form a plane with the double bond in the beta-gamma position of the ester gp. and represent H, lower alkyl, lower alkyenyl lower alkynyl, halogen, acyl or acyloxy; Z is 3-7C alicyclic lower haloalkenyl, lower alkyl substd. by halogen, CN lower alkoxy, lower alkynyl, lower alkenyl or opt. branched lower alkyl, X is where R10 is aryl. propargyl, benzyl, thienyl, furylmethyl, phenoxy or phenylthio; R11 is H CH3, CF3 or halogen, or R10 and R11 may together form (CH2)3 or (CH2)4; R12 is H, ethynyl or CN; t is 1 or 2; B is O.S or -CH=CH-; R13 is phthalimido, thiophthalimido, dihydrophthalimido, tetrahydrophthalimido or dialkylmaleimido; R14 is allyl, propargyl. benzyl or alkadienyl; R15 is H or CH3; R16 is phenyl thienyl or furyl, and W is CH3 or halogen).
