PURPOSE:A couple of a beam projector and receiver that has a specific beam path crossing only the balloning of a yarn unwound from the upper yarn feeder in two series of yarn feeders is provided to permit the detection of the breakage of the yarns from the upper feeders. CONSTITUTION:In the double twister in which two yarn feeders are arranged on a vertical axis, forced to revolve respectively and yarn Y1 from the lower feeder 1 is passed through the center of bobboin 4 of the upper feeder 2 and combined with yarn Y2 from the upper feeder 2 on yarn guide 5 and they are taken up, a couple of beam projector 6 and opposition receiver 7 is equipped so that the beam path crosses the ballooning formed by yarn Y2 but not the yarn Y1. The receiver 7 detects the interruption of beam caused by Y2 to send pulse signals and the yarn break detector examines the pulse signals. |
