An initial latex of a synthetic polymer is gradually poured, with stirring, into a solution of a hydrophobic compound in a water-miscible solvent. On precipitating, the hydrophobic compound is bound into and onto the micelles of the latex. Thermal analysis curves of the dried latexes are different: "A": filled latex; "B": initial latex. Such a latex filled with a chromogenic coupler compound is employed for the preparation of photographic emulsion coatings with silver salts containing a chromogenic coupler. <IMAGE>
