PURPOSE:To make highly-reliable and stable recording and reproduction possible by applying adequate strain to a floppy disk by pushing the external case of the floppy disk against two reference surfaces differing in height. CONSTITUTION:External case 2 of a floppy disk is pushed against two reference surfaces 14 and 15 differing in height by depressing member 10 through elastic member 11. Then, floppy disk 1 is applied with constant strain 21 near long hole 3 for recording and reproduction and, in consequence, floppy disk 1 increases in rigidity, preventing the disk in rotation from fluttering. Strain 12 occurring near disk center hole 6 due to chattering is reduced greatly, so that the magnetic head can come in stable contact even at an internal circumference side. In this way, stable recording and reproduction can be attained. |
