Auxiliary burner for gas heated boiler with heat pump - has outlets in tube mounted parallel to boiler surface, at right angles to main burner

The heat pump using a boilder with a gas heater as in the main patent, also uses an auxiliary burner (1"). The boiler has a vertical cylinder (30) with a channel (33) through the middle through which passes the heat from the main burner (1') below. The auxiliary burner has a vertical tube parallel to the outside of the cylinder, with a line of flames (34) directed horizontally towards the cylinder. Both burner tubes are connected to the same gas supply tube (35) and the auxiliary burner has its own magnetically operated supply valve (36). The exhaust gases from the auxiliary heater travel around the cylinder and join the exhaust gases from the main heater at a point above the cylinder to pass through a common outlet (23).
