Safety circuit for bicycle lights - includes rear light backed by standby battery

The lighting control circuit(1) for the bicycle has a generator(G) as well as a battery(B1) to power the front and rear lights. For one switch setting both lights are driven off the generator while for a second switch setting the rear light is driven off the battery below a set output voltage from the generator. The control circuit also recharges the battery when the generator output is above a set value. The circuit ensures that the rear light remains effective in all road conditions.
