<p>A powder-like binder is prepd. by reacting 100 wt. pts. an epoxy diane resin with 40-500 wt.pts. mono- or di-furfurylidene-acetone, di-furfurylidene-cyclohexanone, a mixt. of mono- and di-furfurylidene-acetones in the wt. ratio 1-1.4:1, 1,9-di-(alpha-furyl)-nonane-tetraene-1,3,6,8-one-5- or 1,5-di-(alpha-furyl)-2,4-dimethyl-pentadiene-1,4-one-3, and 60-500 wt.pts. a phenol-formaldehyde resin or dibasic carboxylic acid anhydride at 130-180 degrees C; cooling the prod. to =30 degrees C; and rendering it to a powder like state. The binder can be used in the mfr. of spray coatings, laminates, moulding compsns., adhesives and foamed plastics. The binder is not clogged for 60 days and can be stored for 12 months without changing its initial properties. Strain heat-resistance of polymeric materials prepd. on the basis of the binder is as high as 320 degrees C (according to Vicat.).</p> |
