In a system for preparing extra light fuel oil for combustion through oil atomiser nozzles, the oil is preheated to a constant temp. before it is passed through the atomiser nozzle. The preheating can be effected by electric current or by the heat inherent in the mixing head, pref. to a temp. of 60-120 deg.C. The burner tube (1) inside the protective sleeve (2) houses a preheating chamber (3) with heating elements, supplied with current through leads (4). Oil is atomised by the nozzle (5) in the direction of the arrow (6). The oil mist is ignited by the sparking device (7). A mixer (8) ensures intimate mixing with the primary air (arrow 9). The oil passes from the pump delivery pipe (11) into a heat exchanger (10) and through pipe (12) into the preheating chamber (3). A thermostat (13) can be used for control, ie to activate the burner when the desired temp. is reached and to cut out the electric heating when the mixer head is hot enough to keep the oil in the exchanger at the desired temp.
|
