Compression mould and seal ring - for producing sleeve ends with seal ring insert on pipe ends

In a press mould and seal ring for sealing the joint between the sleeve end and insert end of two co-operating plastic pipes, in which the two parts are used as the mould for the production not only of the sleeve end of one pipe but also simultaneously for the insertion of the seal ring into an internal groove in the sleeve end so formed, the improvement consists in (a) providing inner and outer surfaces which form between them an integral body, (b) having the major part of this body made of a flexible elastic material provided internally with zone (S) of relatively inelastic material which stabilises this zone relatively to the remainder of this body.
