Pipe coupling device comprises a plastics take-up tubular section and fitting tubular section, >=1 ring seal member between them, and a tensile coupling which cooperates with a clamping member connected with the take-up section and exerting radial pressure onto the coupling, on the one hand, and with the fitting tubular section via a profile on its surface, on the other hand. The coupling device is designed and arranged in such a way that it allows relative motion of take-up section and fitting section. Generation of relaxation and creep is eliminated, thus enabling the claimed coupling to be used e.g. in gas pipelines.
