A motor-driven bush has a housing to which a suction fan is connected. The drive motor (5, 6) and the brush (18) and its housing are self contained units. The brush is connected with the drive motor via a flexible shaft (8) and the fan (9) is connected with the housing via a flexible hose (710). There is a safety coupling (26) between the motor and the brush and the motor is connected with a travelling chassis.
