Terpolymers of 55-75% of a C6-16 alkyl acrylate, 15-30% of C1-6 alkyl acrylate, and 2-20% of a vinyl alkylether or vinyl alkanoate are useful in very small amounts in lubricating oils, especially gear lubricants, to inhibit foam. The preferred terpolymers are terpolymers of 2- ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate and vinyl acetate. |
