PURPOSE:To enhance an electrostatic charging characteristics and sensitivity characteristics by incorporating a polycarbonate having main repeating structural units in an electric charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer contains the charge generating material represented by formula I and the charge transfer layer contains the charge transfer material represented by formula II and the polycarbonate having at least one of the main repeating structural units represented by formulae III and/or IV. In formulae I and II, X is alkyl, alkoxy, or the like; m is an integer of 0-4; Y is O, halogen, or the like; n is an integer of 0-2; and each of R1, R2, X1 and X2 is H or aryl, and in formulae III and IV, each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl, or the like; each of R3-R10 is H, halogen or the like; and Z is an atomic group necessary to form a carbon ring or hetero ring, thus permitting an electrostatic charging characteristics, sensitivity characteristics, and image forming characteristics to be enhanced. |
