<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for the storage of foods for a long period, preventing deterioration, rat damages, spontaneous combustion, etc. of the foods, by furnishing the silos with circulation circuits to introduce inert gas into the silos, and substituting the spaces in the silos with inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A suction valve 11 of an air intake pipe 4, and a check valve 21 are opened, and an inert gas producer 6 and a booster compressor 17 are put in motion to press the inert gas into an inert gas reservoir 18. Check valves 9, 13 and 14 are opened, and the air in the silo B is sucked and sent into the inert gas producer 6, in which oxygen is separated and removed from the air. The inert gas thus produced is introduced into the silo B through a piping 5. By continuing this operation, the oxygen concentration in the silo B gradually decreases. When the concentration measured by an oxygen meter 10 reaches a predetermined level, the operation of the inert gas producer is stopped and the check valves 9, 13 and 14 are closed.</p> |
