<p>The automated and programmable tube bending machine has several clamping units acting in association with bending units. These have an assembly of rollers (15) and a clamping carriage (14). The carriage can be moved by a ram (16) in alternative directions relative to the rollers. The rollers are mounted on an offset axle incorporating a pinion, and the pinion engages a rack coupled to a secondary ram. All components including the offset axle are incorporated in a combined support block and housing. The housing can be rotated by an analogic process where the operating motion of the rollers effects a simultaneously pivoting of the carriage and, thus, the bending of the workpiece tube. The rotational and pivoting movements are limited by a programmable system. Each clamping unit may include two pincers or jaws (1, 2) with supports which include a peg in a curved groove in the disc shaped block.</p> |
