A pre-control plunger is acted on by theoretical and actual values of the position and/or resistance of an implement and/or lifting cylinder pressure and a hydraulic main control plunger which feeds fluid from the pump to the lifting cylinder and/or returns it to the tank. Two hydraulic circuits supply the controller and each has a main control plunger. One plunger is connected directly with the pre-control plunger and the other is connected via a delay element.
