A gastight housing encloses a chemical installation, and contains filters for cleaning the gases to be evacuated from the housing. Means are provided for the creation of an underpressure in the housing, and access into the housing is through an air/gas lock. The lock comprises a first door in a wall of the housing, and access duct joined gastight to the housing wall around the door opening, and a second door joined gastight to the outer end of the access duct. Used to limit atmospheric pollution by preventing escape of noxious gases from a chemical plant.
