16/3 FIELD EFFECT TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE A field effect type liquid crystal display device has electrode segments arranged and shaped such that a uniform orientation of liquid crystal molecules is attained to improve the quality of a displayed image. The electrode is structured such that a down slope is presented to the orientation of liquid crystal molecules at those edges of electrode segments which define an edge of a displayed pattern.
