The accordion has an improved mechanical keyboard facility that offers a greater note range than that of the classical systems. The classical system has mechanisms (3, 4, 5, 6) for fifths, tremolo, fundamental and low octaves respectively. The new mechanism (112) provides fundamental notes and operates a cranked lever (7), transmission lever (9) and push rod (11) for the flat transmission lever. A pivoted lever (13) is moved to rotate and displace the operating link (14) to move the lever to change the direction of rotation about the eccentric axis.
