<p>Aerosols, used for individual or group inhalation, which are supplied from low-concn. brine or other liqs. by ultrasonic atomisers, are sterilised to kill any microorganisms, before they are released. A heating spiral in the space above the liq. level and in the liq. itself is controlled by one or two thermostats to produce a temp. of >=70 degrees C. Holding times of 15 mins. at 70 degrees C or of 30-90 secs. at 80-90 degrees C are enough to kill vegetative, pathogenic and facultatively pathogenic bacteria.</p> |
