The machine parts off tobacco leaves previously chain-stitched together by machine to form a garland for the drying operation. It has two endless belts to hold the garlands and two rollers to grip the thread. The thread is passed through the bottom hole of a control lever (4), and then between two rollers (11, 12) of truncated-cone section, running against each other. During extraction of the thread, the ends of the leaves forming the garland are subjected to a beating action. Dependent on the length of thread freed, the lever can be loaded to one side or the other, thus deflecting the thread towards the large or small diameter ends of the rollers and varying the extraction speed.
|
