Dummy made of separate sections, for continuous casting plant - where sections can be easily stored in multistorey cassette with short length

The dummy is a chill against which molten metal is cast to form the front end of a billet or slab at the start of continuous casting; and the dummy is assembled from several sections, which can pref. be sepd from each other by lifting one section. After use, the dummy is pref. rolled into a multistorey cassette employed for storage. The pref. cassette consists of a vertical stack of storeys each fitted with a roller track for storing separate parts of the dummy; and the cassette is pref. mounted on a swivel so it can be lifted to a sloping position. Conventional dummies are difficult to store and manipulate.
