NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula (named substance No. 17927D), its salts, and esters. USE:An intermediate for substances No. 17927A1 and A2, antibacterial antibiotics. PROCESS:Bacteria producing substance No. 17927D, which belong to the genus Streptomyces, preferably Streptomyces fulvoviridis and their related microorganisms, particularly strains of Streptomyces fulvoviridis No. 17927 (FERM-P No. 3935), No. 18032 (FERM-P No. 3936), and No. 18333 (FERM-P No. 3937) are cultured by the ordinary radiation culture method. Bacterium bodies and other solid portions are separated to give a liquid portion. The desired substance is obtained by adsorbing on an adsorbent, and by eluting with a solvent. The compound can be converted to substances No. 17927 A1 and A2 by contact with a suitable transforming enzyme. |
