The insert has a circular body (1) which is arranged as a flange which can be clamped between the flanges of the carburettor and the intake manifold. Inside the body there is an annular tube (7) which has a row of holes (9) on the outside and a row of holes (8) on the inside. Air is supplied to the annular tube through pipes (6) running through the walls of the insert body (1). They are connected to supply pipes (12) and their end sections (10) contain adjusting screws (11) by means of which the flow of air to the annular tube can be adjusted. A hemispherical metal gauze (15) is clamped between the flanges and projects into the end of the intake manifold.
