A therapeutic agent for the treatment of caries and precarious conditions contg. xylite, as active ingredient, and a carrier is new. Xylite used regularly as a therapeutic agent significantly reduces the formation of caries and remineralises the tooth substance. The xylite must be brought into direct contact with the teeth for at least 2 min., pref. at least 5 min., esp. at least 10 min. Suitable product forms are chewing gum, tablets, pastilles, sweets, gumdrops, mouth washes or sprays, toothpaste. |
